Multi-Literacy Digestive System Lesson!

Multi-Literacy Lesson for Grade 10 Science, Biology Unit.

Lesson: Digestive System PEOE (Predict, Explain, Observe, Explain)

Students will be able to demonstrate their ability to explain the processes of how the organ functions in specific relation to the digestive system.

The lesson plan allows students to explore the human digestive system in a variety of ways which appeal to the various learning styles of the students. The multi-literacy theory dimension of learner differences is incorporated by allowing students to obtain and present new information in various media. Students apply the knowledge gained by writing a short story, presenting a video/live presentation, or comic about what happens to a cracker as it moves through the digestive system. Students are able to present their information in a number of ways to accommodate their individual learning styles and differences. Constructing a multi-literacy lesson plan allows for a teacher to consider more than one type of learning style which will benefit students.
